Spotlight on: Defence Procurement Research and Technology

DCI takes a look at what is shaping up to be a leading event in the defence procurement calendar: Defence Procurement Research and Technology 2012, held at the UWE Bristol Exhibition and Conference Centre on 21 November.

Defence Procurement Research & Technology (DPRT) 2012 is a new event tailored to recognise and maximise the vital role that new technologies play in ensuring that the UK continues to build the kind of defence and security capabilities outlined within the White Paper National Security Through Technology: Technology, Equipment, and Support for UK Defence and Security, as well as the MOD’s Ten-Year Equipment Plan.

Hosting a keynote conference arena supported by thought leaders, an interactive technology-led exhibition arena alongside Knowledge Transfer Zones designed to facilitate interactive learning and development, DPRT 2012 is the most anticipated defence procurement event of 2012.

The MOD is British industry’s single largest customer with an annual procurement spend of around £14 billion. DPRT 2012 has been designed to provide the defence buyer and supplier communities with the chance to interact and communicate across a single platform in order to enhance effective collaboration and competition in all areas of defence procurement and technology research activity.

All exhibition space for the event has now officially sold out, however delegate places are still available. With over 1000 key decision makers in attendance, DPRT 2012 will offer an unparalleled route to market for both established and aspiring suppliers to the MOD/prime contractor market within the UK and Europe.

DPRT 2012 is supported by DE&S, ADS, Dstl and DSTAN among others, and will shine a spotlight on the crucial role that research and technology development plays in strengthening the UK’s defence and security capacity.
