A new surface station is proposed at Old Oak Common on the western mainline to connect both high speed 2 and the western mainlines services together. The purpose of this contract is to provide design services for the railway systems in and around the new proposed station at old oak common and, integrate with the design being carried out by HS2 Ltd’s design consultant. The tender and contract contain options for further design services including detail design.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement:
The supplier is contracted to provide the following, railway systems option selection and approval in principle design services will include, but not be limited to:
— modification of the western mainline track layout to support the new station at old oak common,
— track drainage including attenuation and outfalls,
— new OLE and modification to existing OLE system,
— modification to existing Traction power supply and SCADA system,
— new and/or modification to existing non-traction distribution power system, including DNO and LV system,
— signalling power supply system,
— points heating,
— signalling system and train control system,
— operational telecommunication system,
— associated lineside civils – e.g. signal bases, signal posts, signal gantries, sign bases/foundations, LOC bases, REB bases, lineside fencing, small retaining walls,
— cable management system including trough routes, UTX’s and URX’s,
— surveys,
— utilities strategy,
— structural assessment of GWML overbridges – Scrubs Lane Bridge (2 m 55 ch) and Mitre Bridge (2 m 56 ch),
— structural assessment of GWML underbridges — Old Oak Common Lane Bridge (3 m 39 ch) and Central Line Bridge 3 m 42 ch),
— any additional features which may affect the scheme being developed/delivered.
