Serco has been awarded a single-award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to continue to provide installation support for Close-In Weapons Systems (CIWS) on US Navy, US Army and US Coast Guard vessels.
This contract has a one-year base period plus four one-year option periods, with a ceiling value of $51 million, if all option years are exercised.
Under the contract, Serco will be awarded task orders to perform installations, upgrades and modifications to the CIWS, a point-defence weapon for detecting and destroying low- and high-flying, high-speed manoeuvring anti-ship missile threats that have penetrated outer defences. These systems are typically mounted shipboard in a naval capacity. Work on the contract is expected to be performed at varying locations and facilities including training sites, private and public shipyards, pier side, in dry dock, Continental United States (CONUS), internationally, and at Serco’s facility.
Dave Dacquino, Serco’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said: “Serco has been delivering ship modernisation services under this program for the past eight years and we pride ourselves on bringing a rich history of experience in supporting the U.S. Navy with C5ISR solutions.
“We recognise the importance of supporting our joint warfighters under this program, and we are extremely pleased to continue advancing the United States military’s shipboard defence systems.”
