The Polish Air Force is now using a sophisticated suite of flight data recording, transmission, management and analysis technology from Teledyne Controls to further improve the safety and efficiency of its dedicated VIP Flights for senior government and military officials.
The Polish Air Force has deployed Teledyne’s GroundLink Comm+ system – a wireless quick access recorder and communication device that provides cellular wireless connectivity between the aircraft and a ground-based analysis station.
The Polish Air Force now benefits from the acquisition of aircraft flight data via Teledyne’s Digital Flight Data Unit (DFDAU), automated download of the flight data via the GroundLink Comm+ cellular system, and processing and analysis via Teledyne’s AirFASE ground software.
A key use case for GroundLink technology is the requirement to scrutinise a pre-VIP flight engine ground run. Data is offloaded from the aircraft to flight operations and analysed automatically. This allows the flight operations team to scrutinise the data and determine engine operating performance. Any anomalies within the data can be quickly identified and rectified before the flight.
Thomas Innocenti, Regional Director, Government and Military Sales, says that this approach will deliver significant operational benefits. He commented: “Teledyne’s GroundLink automated download solution accelerates information delivery, minimises costs and optimises efficiency, compliance, quality control and process management.”
