Devon-based Supacat, which designs and manufactures high-mobility and protected vehicles for armed forces across the world, has won the Queen’s Award for International Trade for Outstanding Short Term Growth.
In the past three years Supacat’s overseas earnings have grown from £2.5 million to over £32 million on the back of orders for products such as its Special Forces HMT Extenda vehicle, which have been the subject of a substantial recent order from Australia’s armed forces.
Supacat, which for a number of years has supplied vehicles to the UK military, has also recently won new contracts for its vehicles from Norway and New Zealand and is now actively pursuing emerging opportunities with new export customers in locations including the US, Middle East and China.
Established in 1980, Supacat is part of SC Group, which provides engineering solutions to sectors including oil and gas, nuclear, marine and renewables.
